The name represents the hybrid transmission of human pedaling (Bio) and variable electrical energy as support.
As a new mobility concept, the Bio‑Hybrid combines the advantages of a bicycle (environmentally friendly, space requirements, low maintenance costs) with those of a car (weather protection, driving safety, luggage transportation). As a pedelec, it combines the power of both worlds in an optimal mix: four wheels, one roof, electrically supported, emissions-free, driver's license-free*. With a clear focus on the active driving experience, for flexible, individual movement and the environmentally friendly transportation of goods in the city.

Several variants are planned. As a two-seater, the Passenger is the perfect companion for individual mobility. For the daily commute to work, shopping or simply for leisure time fun. The Cargo is available as an environmentally friendly transport solution in two different versions. With a closed transport box with up to 1,500 liters of transport volume and as the Cargo Pick-up with its open loading area. An interchangeable container system and individual configurations can be requested individually.
There are many applications for the Bio‑Hybrid. For companies and private persons. We see a valuable benefit, for example, in the transportation of goods by courier express parcel services (CEP), and the entire mobility on modern campus areas and factory premises. Other target groups are cities and communities, the catering sector, retail trade and handicraft enterprises. In the private sector, we see a broad target group: from young families and commuters to senior citizens who are fitness enthusiasts. People who do not want to have their own car, but still do not want to do without its comfort and driving safety.
The vehicle’s performance is regulated under German law in the same way as a pedelec, which means it can be powered electrically up to 25 km/h (plus legal tolerance). This may vary depending on the country.
Driving a Bio‑Hybrid is child‘s play. Just get in and start riding – just like an e-bike. You don’t have to shift gears manually. Four driving modes and an additionally adjustable cadence are planned. Depending on their individual riding style, the driver will be able to choose the optimum setting for their fitness level.
Yes, there will be an electric reverse gear at the touch of a button. This will make parking and maneuvering the Bio‑Hybrid an easy task.
Unlike with bicycles, where the human spine absorbs the shocks, the seat needs to be equipped with shock absorbers. As a result, the Bio‑Hybrid is fully sprung and shock-damped. Measures have also been implemented to manage lateral motion. All four wheels feature hydraulic brakes. Find out more about the technology inside the Bio‑Hybrid.
The Bio‑Hybrid will have a holistic security concept, which also includes an anti-theft mechanism. In the future, you can unlock and lock the Bio‑Hybrid via an app. It is also planned that the Bio‑Hybrid will give the alarm if it is moved or lifted without permission. The Bio-Hybrid’s location can be detected at any point via GPS. You can park the Bio‑Hybrid like any other cargo bike or bicycle. The aim is that cities will start creating parking spaces for vehicles such as the Bio‑Hybrid. In theory, one car parking space could accommodate three Bio-Hybrids.
It is safer than a bicycle due to the added roof construction, higher driving stability thanks to its four wheels, its own specially designed tires and high-quality braking system and a smart lighting system that includes turn signals which provides increased visibility in road traffic. We are currently planning a restraint belt for children on the back seat.
Depending on the route, amount of electricity you use and pedaling frequency, you can travel about 50 kilometers. A second battery increases the range up to approx. 100 kilometers. A second slot in the Bio‑Hybrid is provided for the second battery – so both batteries can be installed in the vehicle at the same time. Don’t worry: the app and operating concept are highly intuitive and you will always be informed of the range, vehicle status and battery capacity.
If you want to charge your Bio‑Hybrid battery at home on a normal power outlet, according to current calculations, a full charge cycle would take about three hours. The battery capacity is 1,200 Wh.

Since you can constantly monitor the battery charge level via the Bio‑Hybrid dashboard, you don't have to worry about being surprised by an empty battery. For more range we will also offer a second battery as an option. You can theoretically drive the Bio‑Hybrid on short distances without electric assistance.
The app will be developed for iOS and Android, thus accounting for 99 percent of smartphones. For smart watches, we initially developed an app for the Apple Watch. We are keeping a close eye on the smart device market, which continues to grow in popularity, and will provide updates to meet new requirements and user demands.
Thanks to the underbody and roof construction, as well as the front windscreen in combination with the wheel covers on the tires and the front end, the rider remains almost dry in all weather conditions. An optional door system that further increases weather protection is currently being planned. We ask for a little patience as we are still carrying out some tests regarding design and material.
With the Bio Hybrid you will experience cycling in a completely new way. And not just alone. The Passenger version of the Bio‑Hybrid can comfortably accommodate one passenger behind you. No matter if it’s one of your friends, grandparents or the youngsters. The Bio‑Hybrid fulfils all of the legal requirements for passenger transport according to the StVO reform to take people of all ages with you. We are currently working on concepts for more security with a restraint belt and the integration of a child seat.
Production of the Bio‑Hybrid is scheduled to start at the end of the second quarter of 2021. Delivery of the vehicles is therefore expected to begin in the second half of 2021. Initially, we will only deliver in Germany. In a first step, our service will also be limited to Germany. In the course of 2021, we will examine the individual legal regulations for other countries for the Bio‑Hybrid and a market entry or market entry date. Optional country-specific product adaptations are possible.
The Bio‑Hybrid DUO, in a limited Pioneer Edition, can be ordered in Germany from December 15, 2020 until March 31, 2021 – for private and business customers. We are trying to offer test drives in Germany as soon as possible. The start of production for the pioneer edition of the Bio‑Hybrid DUO is scheduled for the end of the second quarter of 2021. The price will vary depending on the platform, drive system, equipment and requirement profile of the customer. The planned list price of the Bio‑Hybrid DUO is 9,990 euros, including the statutory VAT. Currently, exclusively in Germany, you can order the Bio‑Hybrid DUO in the Pioneer Configuration at the introductory price of 9,490 euros, including the statutory VAT.
